Using SoundGTM with Claude and ChatGPT

SoundGTM is the AI-native partner relationship management (PRM) platform. It exposes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets Claude, ChatGPT, and Claude Desktop query your partner pipeline and take actions on your behalf — without logging into a portal.

Ask things like:

  • "How's my partner pipeline looking this quarter?"
  • "Which partner deals have stalled?"
  • "List pending commissions and authorize the ones that are ready."
  • "Invite jane@example.com as a referral partner."
  • "Draft a nudge email to the partner on my biggest stalled deal."

Your AI assistant translates the request into the right SoundGTM action and answers from your live workspace data — partners, deals, commissions, and programs.

Note

Note: This requires a SoundGTM account. If you don't have one yet, sign up free — connecting an AI assistant takes about a minute once you're in.

How it works

There are two ways to connect:

  • OAuth — for claude.ai and ChatGPT. You approve the connection on a SoundGTM consent screen; no key to copy, and you can disconnect at any time.
  • API key — for Claude Desktop, custom scripts, and any other MCP client that authenticates with a bearer token.

Both read-only and read-write access are available. For recognized AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT) the consent screen preselects read + write; any other client defaults to read-only. Either way the screen states the access level being granted and you can switch before approving. Write actions (updating a deal stage, authorizing a commission, inviting a partner, sending an announcement) normally prompt for confirmation before running.

An assistant can also ask to sign you in (the OpenID Connect openid and email scopes). When it does, the consent screen says so and names the email address that will be shared — assistants use it to confirm your account belongs to an approved company domain. Sign-in isn't adjustable on the screen: approve it or cancel. Nothing beyond your user id, email address, and whether that address is verified is ever shared.

Connecting claude.ai (OAuth)

  1. In claude.ai, go to Settings → Integrations and click Add integration.
  2. Enter https://partnertracker.soundgtm.com/api/mcp as the server URL.
  3. claude.ai redirects you to SoundGTM to sign in and approve the connection. The consent screen states the access level being granted and lets you switch between read-only and read + write, and names your email address if the assistant asked to sign you in.
  4. Once approved, claude.ai connects automatically. Ask it "How's my partner pipeline?" to try it out.

Connecting ChatGPT (OAuth)

Requires a ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan with Developer mode enabled.

  1. Go to Settings → Apps & connectors → Advanced and toggle on Developer mode.
  2. Click Create to add a new connector.
  3. Name it SoundGTM and paste https://partnertracker.soundgtm.com/api/mcp into MCP Server URL.
  4. Set Authentication to OAuth and click Create.
  5. ChatGPT redirects you to SoundGTM to sign in and approve the connection.

Connecting Claude Desktop (API key)

Claude Desktop authenticates with an API key rather than OAuth. Once signed in to SoundGTM, generate a key and add this to your Claude Desktop config file (macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json):

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "soundgtm": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://partnertracker.soundgtm.com/api/mcp"],
      "env": {
        "MCP_AUTH_TOKEN": "pt_sk_your_key_here"
      }
    }
  }
}

Restart Claude Desktop after saving — "soundgtm" should appear as a connected tool server.

FAQ

Does this cost extra? No — MCP access is included on any paid or trial SoundGTM plan.

Can I revoke access later? Yes. Every connected AI assistant and API key can be disconnected instantly from inside SoundGTM, with no effect on the others.

Is my data shared with anyone else? No. The MCP server only accesses your own SoundGTM workspace data through SoundGTM's first-party API — there's no third-party data sharing involved in this integration.
